В Великобритании впервые открывается Представительство ИППО
Директор ИППО в Государстве Израиль Игорь Ашурбейли принял участие во встрече с британской делегацией.
В Великобритании впервые за более чем 135-летнюю историю существования Императорского Православного Палестинского Общества открывается Представительство этой общественной организации.
Открытие офиса стало одной из тем встречи, состоявшейся 3 апреля в Центре ИППО. Действительный член ИППО Майкл Винн-Паркер, владельцы и управляющие фонда «Вurke’s Peerage» Уильям Бортрейк и Марк Джеймс Эйр встретились с Председателем ИППО Сергеем Степашиным и Директором ИППО в Государстве Израиль, членом Совета Общества, членом Российско-Британской торговой палаты Игорем Ашурбейли.
Писатель и общественный деятель Майкл Винн-Паркер – давний партнёр и друг ИППО, имеет тесные связи с Русской Православной Церковью. Вместе со своими коллегами он содействует развитию российско-британских культурных, духовных и гуманитарных связей, а в настоящее время продвигает идею создания Представительства ИППО в этой стране. В 2013 году сэр Майкл Винн-Паркер принимал участие в открытии Представительства ИППО в Эстонии.
Сергей Степашин выразил британским партнёрам признательность за содействие в сохранении исторических традиций, в продвижении интересов Общества в Великобритании, а также проводимую ими работу по подготовке к открытию Представительства ИППО в Лондоне. В ходе беседы стороны особо отмечали, что многолетние культурные и гуманитарные связи между двумя странами и народами разрушить невозможно ни при каких обстоятельствах. ИППО как старейшая общественная организация является примером сохранения исторических традиций и благотворительности.
Майкл Винн-Паркер рассказал об интересе к деятельности Общества многих уважаемых и влиятельных людей в его стране, которые выразили желание войти в состав создаваемого Представительства ИППО в Великобритании. Были затронуты и другие вопросы, представляющие взаимный интерес. Майкл Винн-Паркер, который впервые побывал в Иерусалиме ещё в 1970 году и тогда впервые узнавший об уникальной деятельности ИППО, передал Сергею Степашину редкие архивные документы, связанные с историей русского присутствия в Святой Земле.
Владелец и управляющий Фонда ««Вurke’s Peerage» Уильям Бортрик, который является специалистом в области истории королевских семей, рассказал, что он и его предки имеют родственные связи с Великой княгиней Елизаветой Фёдоровной. Возглавляемый им Фонд был основан в Лондоне в 1826 году и ведёт работу по увековечиванию памяти и истории королевских семей в Великобритании, а также в других странах Европы, в Латинской Америке и др.
Meeting at the IOPS Center in Moscow
IOPS director in the State of Israel Igor Ashurbeyli took part in the meeting with the British delegation.
Representation of this public organization is being opened in the UK for the first time in more than 135 years of the existence of the Imperial Orthodox Palestine Society.
The opening of the office was one of the topics of the meeting held on April 3 at the IOPS Center. The full member of the IOPS, Michael Wynne-Parker, the owners and managers of the Burke’s Peerage Foundation, William Bortrayick and Mark James Eyre, met with the Chairman of the IOPS Sergey Stepashin and the IOPS Director in the State of Israel, a member of the Society Council, a member of the Russian-British Chamber of Commerce Igor Ashurbeyli.
Writer and public figure Michael Wynne-Parker is an old partner and friend of the IOPS, has close ties with the Russian Orthodox Church. Together with his colleagues, he promotes the development of Russian-British cultural, spiritual and humanitarian ties, and is currently promoting the idea of creating an IOPS office in this country. In 2013, Michael Wynne Parker participated in the opening of the IOPS Representative Office in Estonia.
Sergey Stepashin expressed gratitude to the British partners for their assistance in preserving the historical traditions, in promoting the interests of the Society in the UK, as well as their work in preparation for the opening of the IOPS Representative Office in London. In the course of the meeting, the sides stressed that long-term cultural and humanitarian ties between the two countries and peoples can not be destroyed under any circumstances. IOPS as the oldest public organization is an example of the preservation of historical traditions and charity.
Michael Wynne-Parker spoke about the interest in the activities of the Society of many respected and influential people in his country who expressed a desire to become part of the newly created IHPO Representative Office in the UK. Other issues of mutual interest were also touched upon. Michael Wynne-Parker, who first visited Jerusalem in 1970 and then first learned about the unique activities of the IOPS, gave Sergei Stepashin rare archive documents related to the history of the Russian presence in the Holy Land.
The owner and manager of the “Burke’s Peerage” Foundation, William Bortrick, who is an expert in the history of royal families, said that he and his ancestors have kinship ties with Grand Duchess Elizabeth Feodorovna. The Foundation, which he founded, was founded in London in 1826 and is working to perpetuate the memory and history of royal families in Britain, as well as in other European countries, Latin America, and others.
