HRH The Prince of Wales Visits Russian Orthodox Cathedral

HRH paid his second visit to the Cathedral in Ennismore Gardens, London to attend a Service of Thanksgiving and Concert in celebration of the 90th birthday of HM The Queen.  He was received by Archbishop Elisey and the Trustees, Michael Wynne-Parker, Adrian Dean, Anton Zakharov and Alexei Motlokhov.

HH Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and all Russia – 16th October

HE Archbishop Elisey of Sourozh, Head of the Russian Orthodox Church of Great Britain and Ireland and Michael Wynne-Parker, Diocesan Trustee hosted a Reception and Dinner in honour of HH Patriarch Kirill during his official visit to the UK.  Present were representatives of different aspects of British society from England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and Ireland.  HH was piped in by Major Potter of the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards and Miss Maria Oaks, Harpist, played traditions Welsh, English and Irish airs.

HH Patriarch Kirill blessed the icon of Royal Martyr Nicholas 11 which has been presented by the people of Russia to the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards Regimental HQ in Edinburgh.

HH Partiarch Kirills visit marks the 300th Anniversary of the London Russian Orthodox Church and included the Festive Liturgy at the Cathedral of the Dormition, Ennismore Gardens, London, and meetings with HM The Queen and the Anglican Archbishop of Canterbury.

Sambo Commonwealth Finals – 24th September

Michael Wynne-Parker, President Commonwealth Sambo Association, presided over the Commonwealth Finals, Edinburgh, Scotland.  Teams from Commonwealth Countries competed together with the American and Russian champions.  The Presidents Cup was presented by HRH Princess Katarina to the Russian Team.
